Principal Full Stack Engineer

Piper Companies is looking for a Principal Full Stack Software Engineer to provide technical leadership across the design and delivery of modern enterprise applications. This individual will play a key role in a major initiative, shaping engineering best practices and supporting multiple development teams. The position is hybrid (2–3 days per week onsite) and based in Smithfield, RI or Merrimack, NH.

Responsibilities of the Principal Full Stack Software Engineer:

• Lead the architecture and development of scalable enterprise solutions using Java, Spring Boot, Node.js, and RESTful services.
• Design cloud‑ready applications utilizing Docker, Kubernetes, and Terraform.
• Oversee creation and optimization of CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins.
• Drive engineering standards through GitHub code reviews and best‑practice guidance.
• Contribute to front‑end development using Angular and React.
• Collaborate closely with product, architecture, and leadership teams in an Agile environment.
• Mentor engineers and promote automation, quality, and continuous improvement across teams.
  
  

Qualifications of the Principal Full Stack Software Engineer:

• 8–10 years of full‑stack experience with Java, Spring Boot, Node.js, REST APIs, PostgreSQL/SQL.
• Strong hands‑on background with Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, and AWS.
• Proficiency with Jenkins/Jenkins Core for CI/CD.
• Deep experience with GitHub workflows and source control.
• Solid working knowledge of Angular and/or React.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and analytical skills.
• Prior experience working within Agile teams.
• Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Must be eligible to work in the U.S.
  
  

Compensation of the Principal Full Stack Software Engineer:

• Salary dependent on experience.
