Overview
The Industrial Engineer is responsible for the supervision, formulation, administration and coordination of industrial engineering policies designed to improve operating performance, reduce waste and delays and otherwise promote cost reductions on a site basis. Activities involve using time study or standard data for a variety of machine, assembly and hand operations, production methods, equipment layout, material handling, and manpower, equipment and material utilization in order to improve operating performance.

Responsibilities
• Assesses processes for their relevance and efficiency of plant operations.
• Responsible for development of all RFQ’s and Equipment Specifications as needed.• Drive lean concepts (5S, Kanban, Visual Factory, TPM etc.) throughout the organization.
• Ability to train and supervise production and maintenance associates.• Help establish training methods for assembly processes.• Responsible for the planning, coordination and implementation of various projects.• Interface with machining, automation and able to trouble-shoot assembly equipment, mechanics and PLC programming.• Provide guidance in equipment selection, overall operations and future expansion.• Implement process improvements.• Ensure that processes are working at optimum level of efficiency.• Develop and track maintenance procedures. • Responsible to track and implement process / equipment changes once direction and funding has been approved.• Supports program meetings (both internally and with the Customer) as required and/or requested.• Supervision of Maintenance staff, handling day to day troubleshooting issues.• Supports all engineering related communication internally and with the Customer.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering or related field
- A minimum of 4 years of experience in logistics/supply chain
- Four (4) years of experience with Freight Optimization (Mode, Packaging / Truck Densities, Freq, Return Ratios)
- Four (4) years of experience with Packaging Concepts and Design.
- A minimum of four (4) years of experience with all Automotive Component Systems; Body, Trim, Chassis, Powertrain, Interior and Electrical Systems.
- Three years of experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Project, Power Point and misc. CAD viewers at an advanced skill level.
- Four (4) years of experience with AutoCAD
- Corporate employees must be able to travel as required to support new launch, engineering change or production related activities (typically no more than 1-2 wks. at a time / estimated 6-12 wks. annually).
