Place Services, Inc. has an immediate need for a Lead Low Voltage Technician in Jackson, MS. This position requires some regional travel around the Southeast. The initial assignment is for a 2-year EHRM infrastructure upgrade at the VA Medical Center in Jackson, MS.
We’re looking for a technician with extensive experience installing Structured Cabling and additional experience mounting and connecting end devices for Access Control, Video Surveillance, Intrusion, and Fire Alarm systems.

What You’ll Do:
- This candidate will focus on installing Structured Cabling Systems to include Category 6/6A, single mode and multi-mode fiber cable, Telecom Room build-out, Data Center build-out, and all associated testing and cable certification.
- Additional experience is required on installing and connecting Access Control, Video Surveillance, Intrusion, and Fire Alarm end devices and assisting the Systems Tech with system startup.
- Needs experience installing a wide range of low voltage cabling to include Cat-6/6A jack terminations at patch panels and faceplates; some manufacturer’s or BICSI Installer certification is a plus.
- Will be responsible for managing a crew of up to five technicians and installers on typical project assignments.
- Will work with a project manager or an on-site superintendent on all assigned projects
- Candidate should demonstrate a knowledge of industry standards (BICSI, NICET, NEC, TIA/EIA) and must have prior work experience on large construction site projects working under the supervision of a Project Manager and/or Superintendent and with all trades.
- Troubleshooting and repairing network and controls systems
- Low voltage cabling and device installation skills.
- The candidate needs their OSHA-30 card; manufacturer’s certifications are a plus.
- Ability to present self in a professional manner and represent the company image
- Ability to read and interpret low voltage plans
- Ability to manage and lead a small to mid-size technical team
- Willingness to travel regionally and accept overnight assignments
- Quality-oriented & self-motivated with a “Safety First” mentality
- The ability to lift 50 lbs. on a regular basis
- The ability to transfer 100 lbs. 12 feet with the help of another person
- The ability to work outdoors in diverse environments
- The ability to ascend and descend ladders and other elevated structures
- Must be able to work from heights from an elevated aerial device
