General Purpose

The Coordinator, English Language Arts/English Language Development (ELA/ELD) is responsible to the County Superintendent and works under the direct supervision of the designated administrator. The Coordinator, ELA/ELD supports districts, schools, and educators in implementing high-quality English Language Arts and English Language Development instruction. The Coordinator, ELA/ELD designs, organizes, and delivers professional learning, coaching, and technical assistance to improve literacy outcomes for all students, including English learners and at-risk populations. This is a certificated management position.

Requirements / Qualifications

This position is grant funded which is renewed under the provisions of the grantor of the contract. The current grant is funded through September 28th, 2029. Your position, therefore, is contingent upon continuation of funding of these grants and satisfactory job performance.

Education:

A Master’s degree in education or related field is preferred.

Certificates & Licenses:

  • Must possess a valid California driver's license issued by the State Department of Motor Vehicles.
  • Must possess a California Multiple Subject teaching credential or a California Single Subject in English.
  • Must posses an English Learner authorization equivalent to a CLAD.
  • Must possess a valid California Administrative Services Credential or Certificate of Eligibility (COE) for a California Administrative Services Credential.
  • Reading Specialist Credential preferred.

  • Certification (California Multiple Subject Teaching Credential or a California Single Subject in English.)
  • Copy of Transcript
  • Credential Copy (California Administrative Services Credential or Certificate of Eligibility (COE) for a California Administrative Services Credential.)
