Cardiac Stepdown RN Job Details
- Location: Englewood, CO 80113 (Denver metro area – Colorado nursing jobs)
- Healthcare Setting: Cardiac Stepdown Unit (PCU), 10th Floor, Main Hospital
- Assignment Type: Travel RN contract
- Start Date: September 2, 2025
- End Date: December 2, 2025
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks
- Shift: 12-hour nights (7P - 7A)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Estimated Weekly Salary: $1680 - $1730
- Unit Size: 20 beds, 40 staff members
- Patient Ratio: 1:4
- Electronic Medical Record: Meditech
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license – Colorado or compact state
- Current ACLS certification
- Minimum 1 year recent experience in PCU, cardiac stepdown, or telemetry nursing
- Proficiency with cardiac drips (heparin, tikosin, diltiazem, amiodarone, nitro, Lasix, ketamine)
- Experience with telemetry, transport monitors, suction, feeding pumps, trachs, BiPAP, CPAP, heated high flow, chest tubes, foleys, pacer wires/pacers, IV pumps, SCD pumps
- Strong teamwork, clinical communication, and patient care skills
- Deliver high-quality nursing care to cardiac stepdown (PCU) patients in a fast-paced, high-acuity setting
- Monitor and manage patients on advanced cardiac drips and equipment
- Assist with procedures such as chest tube placement/removal, pacer wire removal, and 12-lead EKGs
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team including RNs, PCTs, and charge nurses
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation using Meditech EMR
- Demonstrate adaptability, high energy, and a team-oriented approach
