Cardiac Stepdown RN Job Details

• Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1840 - $1890
• Assignment Length: 20 weeks (August 19, 2025 – January 6, 2026)
• Healthcare Setting: Cardiac Stepdown Unit, Short Term Acute Care, Level 1 Trauma Center
• Shift: Night shifts, 3x12-hour (19:00 – 07:30)
• Hours per Week: 36 (guaranteed)
• Patient Ratio: 1:4-6
• Weekend Requirement: 3 weekends per 4-week schedule
• Floating: Required to all adult acute care units as needed
• Orientation: 12 hours
• Scrub Color: Hunter Green
• Parking: Free with badge access
  
  

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Michigan RN license (must be in hand by start date; compact licenses not accepted)
• Minimum 2 years of recent Cardiac Stepdown RN experience
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• EPIC charting experience required
• Telemetry experience, including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• BCLS (AHA) certification required
• Must be available for 2 of 3 major holidays (including the day before and after)
• Ability to float to all adult acute care units
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Preferred: ACLS, CPI, NIHSS, ventilator management, conscious sedation, trauma Level 1 experience
  
  

Cardiac Stepdown RN Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in the Cardiac Stepdown unit
• Monitor and manage patients with pre- and post-op cardiac catheterization, cardiac interventions, arrhythmias, congestive heart failure (CHF), and vasoactive drips
• Interpret and manage cardiac telemetry and dysrhythmias
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams, including IV, respiratory, physical therapy, and pharmacy
• Float to other adult acute care units as needed
• Document patient care using EPIC EMR
• Participate in orientation and ongoing clinical training
• Adhere to hospital policies, including RTO and scheduling guidelines
