Med/Surg RN Job Details – Henderson, NC

• Location: Henderson, North Carolina 27536
• Healthcare Setting: Medical/Surgical Unit (48 beds, adult and geriatric patients)
• Job Type: Locum tenens / Travel nursing contract
• Start Date: August 25, 2025
• End Date: November 24, 2025
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
• Weekly Hours: 36
• Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1,730 - $1,770
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Holiday Rotation: Yes
• Electronic Health Record: Paragon EHR

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina or compact state
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) accepted; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
• Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg RN experience in a U.S. hospital
• Strong teamwork, attendance, and punctuality
• Ability to float to other units if needed (rarely)
• Must reside at least 60 miles from Henderson, NC to qualify for travel nurse status
  
  

Med/Surg RN Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in a 48-bed Med/Surg unit
• Manage a patient ratio of 1:6, ensuring safe and effective clinical support
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to optimize patient outcomes
• Accurately document patient care using Paragon electronic health records
• Participate in scheduled holiday and weekend rotations
• Maintain professional appearance and adhere to hospital dress code (no casual wear)
• Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced healthcare environment
