This position is 8.0 hours a day / 260 days a year.
Purpose Statement
The job of Program Specialist (JC596) is done for the purpose/s of coordinating specific District program(s); researching and acquiring a variety of community resources that meet program goals and objectives; and working collaboratively with and facilitating positive relationships with District and/or post-secondary staff, community organizations, students, and/or parents in order to provide for and improve transition to post-secondary educational opportunities in accordance with program goals, objectives, and guidelines.
This job reports to the Administrator
Essential Functions
- Collaborates with teachers and district staff for the purpose of improving the educational experiences of students in the county.
- Composes curriculum for science for the purpose of coordinating lesson plans to teachers to enhance successful student learning outcomes.
- Coordinates instructional processes using District-level, or other professionally developed modules (e.g. supervising technicians, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring optimal training in alignment with established program standards.
- Creates and present presentations to stakeholders (e.g. community organizations, colleges, students, administrators, school board, etc.) for the purpose of educational enrichment.
- Develops activities and lessons for the purpose of promoting science in the school district.
- Develops materials utilizing technology platforms (e.g. documents, forms, reports, memos, letters, etc.) for the purpose of documenting lessons and activities, providing teachers with tools to report outcomes.
- Develops summer school science camp curriculum for the purpose of providing additional opportunities for students to learn.
- Maintains purchase records for the purpose of providing information and/or documentation.
- Researches program eligibility requirements (e.g. financial aid, college eligibility, etc.) for the purpose of providing current and applicable information to students.
- Responds to inquiries from various entities (e.g. community, District, student, parent, etc.) for the purpose of providing information and/or direction.
Other Functions
- Performs other related duties, as assigned, for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.
Education: Bachelor's degree in job-related area
