TITLE: Medical Assistant

POSITION PURPOSE: The purpose of this position is to support the delivery of comprehensive sexual and reproductive healthcare at Planned Parenthood South, East and North Florida, including clinical abortion care.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of 2 years experience in the medical field preferred
- Medical Assistant certification preferred
- Family planning care and reproductive rights experience helpful
- Prior experience working in electronic health records system preferred
- High school degree or equivalent required
BENEFITS AND COMPENSATIONS:
- Hourly compensation range: Starting at $15.00/ hour
- Eligible for all applicable benefits effective the first of the month following 60 days from your hire date.
- Paid Time Off, accrues immediately but can't be taken until after 90 full days of employment : 3 weeks of paid time off, 10 recognized Holidays in addition to PTO, 1 personal day, and birthday.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Consistently demonstrate appropriate service behaviors in interactions with patients
- Administrative duties include answering phones, making appointments, taking messages, transferring records for patients, and ensuring completion of health center records and required forms
- Perform patient medical and social history intakes and provide education as indicated for the services patients are seeking as directed by supervisor/clinician on duty
- Complete basic lab work and follow procedures as required
- Provide patients with non-judgmental pregnancy options counseling and make referrals for service based on the patient’s choice
- Perform all recordkeeping duties related to patient care with accuracy
- Perform housekeeping and stocking duties as needed
- Complete HIPAA and OSHA training and other training as required
