DNA sequencing is fundamental to a biologist’s daily workflow. Just like software engineers program computers in code, biologists program life in DNA - they do this every day. However, every time a biologist updates their DNA (via a chemical process), they have to sequence the DNA to make sure the update works. That’s where we come in!

We sequence DNA overnight (and same-day). Our global logistics network transports tubes of DNA from a scientist’s hand from anywhere in the world to one of our 10 labs in under 12 hours. Our technicians come in the evening/sunrise to load our robots which process the samples. By sunrise, the scientists have their results and begin their next round of experiments. We made this process 30 times cheaper and 10 times faster. Scientists love this.

What you'll be doing

1. Security and Compliance

• Lead and manage SOC 2 and ISO 27001 compliance efforts, including developing cybersecurity policies, preparing for audits, maintaining evidence, and addressing gaps.
• Proactively identify vulnerabilities, through both internal and with third-party risk assessments, and mitigate security risks.

2. Systems and Device Administration

• Administer and maintain IT infrastructure, including servers, workstations, cloud environments, and mobile devices. Secure devices with endpoint protection
• Manage user identity and access control systems (e.g. Okta)
• Oversee software updates, patch management, and system configurations to minimize vulnerabilities. Familiarity with RMM and MDM systems preferred (e.g., NinjaOne, Apple Business Manager).

3. Networking and Infrastructure

• Implement reliable scalable networking solutions, including firewalls, switches, VPNs, and Wi-Fi access points, across our sequencing labs around the world.

Qualifications:

• BS in Computer Science, or relevant work experience
• 6 years as an IT administrator at a high growth startup environment
• Experience leading SOC2, ISO27001 implementation and ongoing compliance certification.
• Computer system administration for Mac OS, Windows, and Linux.
• Google workspace administration
• Experience with RMM platform (e.g., NinjaOne) and endpoint protection (e.g., SentinelOne)
• Experience configuring network infrastructure and server management for Linux-based on-prem compute environments
• Familiarity with cybersecurity, data security, and penetration testing best practices
