Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounting Specialist to join our dynamic finance team. The ideal candidate will perform general department accounting duties at the direction of the Comptroller. Maintain professionalism and provide excellent customer service to internal and external associates. Maintain accurate records/documentation of accounting functions and exercise the strictest confidentiality of the company’s financial situations at all times.
Duties
- Company Payables: Reconcile and pay company statements and invoices for the agency, including verifying that the correct amount has been collected and/or financed, and invoiced accurately.
- Receipts: Deposit and accurately document all ACH’s, electronic payments and checks received from customers and companies within 24 hours of receipt.
- Customer Service: Correspond with Account Managers, Producers, Companies, and Vendors for additional information or to address discrepancies
- Disbursements:
-Vendor Payables: Issue vendor checks, after review & approval
-Check Requests: Research & Process check requests for final review by Comptroller
- Bank Reconciliations: Provide backup bank reconciliation when required
- Employee Expenses:
-Review and Process Employee Reimbursement checks
-Process American Express corporate card payments, research charges, follow-up for required documentation, allocate appropriately, and post to G/L
- Payables Inbox: Monitor Accounting Inbox and distribute actionable items per department guidelines
- Direct Bill: Record Direct Bill as needed
- Benefits: Allocate Plastridge benefits statements
- General Ledger: Enter G/L & G/J entries as required
- Accounts Receivable:
-Review and Apply Debits to Credits in EPIC
- General Journal: Make specified entries, as directed
- Recordkeeping: Correspond with companies and vendors regarding copies of current E&O policies, 1099 requests and verification of address changes as needed
Experience
- A.S. degree required
- Principles of Accounting I & II
- Demonstrated Intermediate Level of Excel proficiency
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $21.00 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
