Job Title:  Dining Room Server 

 Job Summary:

The Food Server is responsible to provide gracious tableside dining service to residents, in addition to cleaning the area of the dining room and/or kitchen and assisting in serving meals. The Food Server should be available to occasionally rotate to other positions within the department when necessary.

Assist residents in the dining room to be seated and make menu selections.

Provide tableside service to the residents of food selections. Initiate the serving of beverages and cold food items to the residents in the dining room.

Buss and reset the tables in the dining room following each mealtime.

Restock dining room tables with condiments.

Observe when food and dining room supplies are low and is responsible to report the need for reorders to the Director of Dining Services.

Aid the cook in the preparation and service of meals.

Assist the cook to label and properly cover and store unused foods after each mealtime. Assist the cook to put away inventory and meat orders.

Must maintain personal hygiene in accordance with OSHA regulations.

Perform other tasks as assigned by supervisor

Able to understand and to follow written and verbal directions. Able to effectively communicate with staff members and residents through verbal and/or written means. Demonstrates ability to prioritize tasks/responsibilities and complete duties/projects within allotted time.

Additional Responsibilities:

Employee must have a great personality and enjoy working with seniors. Employee must be patient, caring and can-do task at a slower pace to accommodate all residents’ needs.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

Age 18 or older.

Some experience in kitchen cleaning and serving.

Ability to read, write, speak and comprehend the English Language.

Employees must have the ability to stand for an extended period without significant rest period; possess the strength/stamina to lift more than 50 lbs. with assist.
