Description : We are looking for a General Manager to oversee the launch of our satellite office in Montgomery, Alabama. This person will recruit and manage the leadership of each function within the satellite office : sales, content, and social media.
In this position you will : Manage the physical, human and financial assets of the stationAchieve budgeted financial goals and grow revenue shareHelp increase the viewing audience by serving the interests of the communityProtect the brand’s reputation through strict adherence to journalism best practicesRecruit, train, manage, and motivate all personnel including sales staffOversee sales for the station including local, new business and new mediaTrain sales team to sell products and servicesLead sales promotions and develop non-traditional revenue sourcesManage employee relations and station relationsManage and control sales revenue by developing strong relationships with local clients
Requirements : 7 years experience in a similar role at a digital media news outlet or in a Sr. Management roleHands on media advertising sales and operational background a mustStrong and positive leadership skills requiredHighly skilled leader, negotiator and motivatorA minimum of 5 years management experience requiredExcellent written and oral communication skills are a mustWord, Excel, PowerPoint preferred.
