Summary

Plum Print/Graphic Designer will apply art, design, and layout skills to create visually engaging original all-over prints, engineered prints, and graphics for collections and custom orders.


Organizational Relationship

Reports directly to Vice President, Product Development and Design


Essential Job Functions

  • Product Development
    • Collaborate with manager and project participants to understand project assignment, audience, and intended message.
    • Create original visual media that communicates the desired feeling or message in an engaging and unified way.
    • Choose graphics, clip art, and stock photography, as appropriate; may enhance choices with simple drawings.
    • Select fonts for written copy; produces sample layout for approval by manager and project participants.
    • Prepare drafts of design work and provide samples to appropriate staff for review.
    • Revise projects as necessary based on a collaborative feedback process.
    • Consult with project participants as needed on complex or specialized projects.
    • Prepare print orders and assembly instructions on notification of final approval.
    • Perform other related duties as assigned.
  • Social Media
    • Create engaging and visually appealing content for social media platforms.
    • Develop pages, posts, and applications to appeal to the target audience.
    • Brainstorm ideas for posts with marketing team and create graphics, visuals, and videos to accompany them.
    • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop campaigns on social platforms.
    • Establish and implement strategies for driving and increasing online traffic.
    • Measure and monitor key performance indicators.
    • Maintain editorial calendars and schedule posts to increase visibility
    • Ensure online content complies with the company’s image and standards
    • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Physical Qualifications

 

  • Ability to remain at workstation for extended periods
  • Ability to maintain a composed and professional demeanor within a flexible and (at times noisy) work environment.
  • Must be able, without assistance, to repeatedly lift up to 10 pounds.

 

 Minimum Job Qualifications

 

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Excellent communication skills, including active listening and responding in person, by phone, and online.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
  • Detail-oriented with above-average organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently on an assignment.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as a member of a team.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Creative Suite or other similar design software.
  • Ability to speak, read, and write English.
  • A Bachelor degree or significant coursework in Art, Graphic Design, or related disciplines is highly preferred. Two to three years of related experience and training or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
