The Building Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for the ongoing and preventative maintenance of PMA's office locations, handling of emergency situations within the Corporate Office and ensuring that the offices are maintained in a safe, inviting condition.

- Performs inspections, preventive maintenance and repairs efficiently, professionally and in a timely manner. This can include HVAC, electrical, plumbing and mechanical systems
- Takes responsibility and completes maintenance assignments keeping appropriate people updated on the status until the assignment is completed. Follows-thru with all involved when there is a delay or the assignment cannot be completed within the requested time frame
- Contacts assigned vendors in advanced to schedule inspections when due. Discusses any comments, recommendations or required repairs and follows up until repairs are completed or issue resolved
- Coordinates the bid process for projects and/or services by drafting a project description, contacting potential bidders, conducting site meetings and following up for proposals
- Respond's promptly to alarm messages and any on-call phone calls
- Investigates and acquires competitive pricing when purchasing material or equipment
- Maintains inventory of maintenance materials and supplies
- At times may operate a company vehicle for the purpose of completing assigned tasks
- Other related duties as assigned
- Demonstrates commitment to Company's Code of Business Conduct and Ethics, and apply knowledge of compliance policies and procedures, standards and laws applicable to job responsibilities in the performance of work
- High school diploma/GED required
- Trade/vocational training preferred or two years of on the job experience in maintenance under the same or similar working conditions
- Plumbing, electrical skills, carpentry, heating and cooling, painting experience is required
- Ability to read schematics and work plans
- Detail oriented and organized
- Must be able to manage time efficiently
- Strong communication, teamwork and follow-up skills
- Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision
- Qualify to operate a company vehicle based on a motor vehicle record check and company requirements
- Willingness to support emergency calls as needed
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time, climb ladders throughout the work day and lift 50 lbs
