Responsibilities:
Setup and operate installed and portable sound, video, and lighting equipment for special events, classes, meetings, video conferences, and notable statements.
Coordinate, set up, and run audio for live events. Mix on digital and analog consoles.
Coordinate the digital video and audio streaming of events.
Operate live video switchers for multi-cam shoots capturing live University events.
Collaborate with Media Services Engineer to establish procedures and documentation
Learn to complete non-linear editing for audio and video projects.
Post and archive finished audio and video to online platforms.
Diagnose and repair installed and portable media equipment and supporting technologies.
Work with vendors on warranty system repairs as well as new technology implementations.
Collaborate with Media Services Engineer in researching and recommending improvements in venue lighting, camera or sound deployments.
Ensure the use of manufacturer best practices and equipment safety guidelines.
Collaborate with Media Services Engineer to advance the use of technology in hardware and software in conjunction with multi-media productions and support.
Computer hardware and software troubleshooting in support of event needs.
Maintain professional communication, demeanor, and working relationships with faculty, administrators, staff, and students both in-person and email.
Provide technical assistance in the planning of productions.
Provide instruction in the use of media technology to constituents.
Cross-train with other staff to gain and share proficiencies.
Train students and reinforce policies and proper event etiquette.
Train and mentor students to operate media equipment.
Assist with Classroom Technology deployment, support and troubleshooting
Adjust the schedule to cover special events and/or work overtime to support various events.
Available for infrequent travel.
Follow established University, ITS, and Event policies, and procedures.
Perform other job-related responsibilities as assigned.

Required Knowledge and Technical Skills (minimum requirements):
Two years experience in the use of audio equipment and software for live sound and recording, including system design, analog and digital signal routing, microphone selection and techniques, non-linear editing, mixing audio for both house and stage monitor systems. Experience with live digital mixing required; Yamaha and Midas desired
Two years of experience with basic video production including shooting video, recording audio, editing video and audio on a non-linear digital editing system, creating basic graphics to identify the video and archiving the video on an online platform.
Desirable Knowledge and Technical Skills:
Experience with Blackmagic equipment
Experience with Dante AV Networking
Experience shooting high definition video and recording useable audio desired
Experience with non-linear digital editing desired
Experience with live broadcast video switching desired
Experience in production-grade lighting design and programming desired
Experience producing graphic design material (electronic and physical) desired
Experience in the use of audio equipment and software for live sound and recording

Physical Requirements
The work is primarily sedentary and may require sitting for extended periods of time
Ability to lift cameras, lights and other equipment, up to 30 pounds
Sufficient hand, arm, and finger dexterity to operate a computer keyboard
Visual acuity to read documents, email, other correspondence, and reports on paper and computer monitors
Speaking and hearing ability sufficient to communicate in person or over the telephone
