Order Picker
Position Summary:
The Order Picker is responsible for accurately and efficiently picking customer orders from warehouse inventory. This role requires attention to detail, organization, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. The Order Picker must ensure that all picked items meet quality standards and are correctly assembled for shipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Retrieve items from warehouse shelves or storage locations based on order sheets or instructions provided.
- Ensure accuracy in picking items by verifying product codes, quantities, and specifications.
- Organize picked items neatly on pallets or in containers to facilitate easy transportation.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the picking area to ensure a safe and efficient working environment.
- Assist in inventory counting and stock replenishment as needed.
- Collaborate with other warehouse team members and supervisors to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Follow proper safety procedures and guidelines to prevent accidents and injuries.
- Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts or pallet jacks, adhering to safety protocols and regulations.
- Communicate any discrepancies or issues with orders to the supervisor for resolution.
- Meet productivity targets and quality standards set by the management.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a warehouse or distribution center preferred.
- Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks for extended periods.
- Basic math skills for counting and verifying quantities.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
- Familiarity with warehouse equipment and safety procedures.
- Willingness to work flexible hours and overtime as needed.
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently with minimal supervision.
