What are the responsibilities and job description for the Production Artist position at Pointsmith?
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented individual to join our team, specializing in production for street-level retail projects. This role will focus on a variety of tasks including product merchandising, store design, point-of-purchase (POP) campaigns, and some web prep (no programming required).
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in production, expert knowledge of Photoshop, and an in-depth understanding of CMYK color processes. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for turning concepts from our Art Directors into polished, press-ready files that require minimal revision. A passion for high-quality production work is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Typesetting and layout design
- File management and organization
- Collection and preparation of assets
- Photo manipulation and retouching
- Work with Art Directors to refine concepts and create final files
- Prepare artwork for print and digital deliverables
Education and Experience:
- Proficient in Adobe Creative Cloud (CC) on Mac
- Strong experience in photo manipulation and retouching
- Thorough understanding of CMYK color processes
- Bachelor’s degree in Arts, Graphic Design, or a related field, or equivalent work experience
Physical Efforts and Skills:
- Above-average creative concept abilities
- Excellent communication skills (both written and oral)
- Knowledge of project management software
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Required Qualifications:
- Must be able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilities.
- Passion for producing high-quality design work with minimal revision.
