Description

The Director of Industrial Operations (DIOP) is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day functions of the Industrial Manufacturing division. The DIOP will develop and execute on strategies to better direct safety, production, and quality initiatives within the Industrial manufacturing division.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Maintain and promote a safe and efficient work environment by ensuring all health and safety regulations are followed.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Develop and maintain a positive workforce that meets the company values.
  • Act as a mentor among production team members to create a professional and driven workforce.
  • Report issues regarding safety, production, quality, maintenance, or personnel problems up the chain of command.
  • Manage a team of manufacturing staff, including hiring, training, and professional development.
  • Develop long-term operational strategies and communication plans to improve safety, quality, productivity and employee engagement.
  • Work closely with senior management to report on operational performance to meet company objectives.
  • Collaborate and work closely with other departments, such as engineering, sales, finance, and supply chain, to identify and implement process and quality improvements in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Manage the workflow and coordination of the manufacturing environment, including materials and equipment to meet production targets in an efficient manner while minimizing defects, scrap, overtime, and costs.
  • Review and manage budget and resources.
  • Lead and develop the production managers to improve in the areas of safety, quality, delivery, productivity, cost, and morale.
  • Coordinate and direct activities of the production department and set its priorities.
  • Develop and implement lean manufacturing process improvements to improve quality, efficiency, and capacity.
  • Assist in company/plant planning through department budget preparation, expenditure recommendations, and workforce forecasting.
  • Perform other activities as needed or assigned.

Education & Training

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or business-related field preferred.

Knowledge & Experience

  • Must have at least 5 years of related manufacturing experience and at least 5 years of experience in management and supervision.
  • Experienced in Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Word, Outlook.
  • Experience in preparing and interpreting various metrics and reports.
  • Experience in leading an organization of 100 or more employees with a proven track record of employee development.

The physical demands are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
