Millwork Estimator
Duties and Responsibilities

1. Sales

· Actively engage in finding profitable project opportunities.

· Responds to inquiries from potential customers for information about the capabilities of Pond Cove.

2. Estimating and Bidding

· Reads and understands the specifications, drawings, notes, etc. in the bid request.

· Discusses any issues that require clarification with the potential client.

· Work with in-house personnel, vendors, suppliers and customers to achieve the most cost-effective project estimate while meeting all specified project criteria including contribution goals.

· Provide coordination for outsourcing: trucking, subcontracting,etc.

· Completes a bid package in accordance with company policy and customer requirements.

· Reviews the estimate and the bid package with the Vice President in accordance with company policy before bid date.

· Submits the bid.

· Maintain records to properly and accurately track bid activity including backlog, new bids, and lost bids.

3. Post-Award Activity

· Assembles and prepares information for operations that enables company employees to gain a thorough understanding of project specifications, milestones, timelines and requirements.

· If the job is large or complex, attends special turn-over and/or detailing meetings between employees.

· Participates in the project “post mortems” and takes advantage of any lessons learned to develop better estimates.

4. General

· Maintains professional, cooperative relationships with contractors, engineers, internal employees and management.

· Develop and maintain a high level of expertise with the estimating system chosen by the company.

· Complies with corporate policies and procedures.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour

Education:

  • Bachelor's (Preferred)

Experience:

  • Construction estimating: 1 year (Preferred)
  • Construction Estimators: 1 year (Preferred)

Work Location: One location
