The Details of the Position
Title: Expediter
Job Type: Full-Time /Part-Time
Schedule: Weekdays (AM/PM), Weekends (AM/PM)
Work location: Poogan’s Southern Kitchen
Responsibilities (include the following and other responsibilities that may be assigned as needed):
- Ensure the efficient flow of orders from the waiters to the kitchen
- Ensure orders are being prepared with the appropriate priority
- Assist in the final preparation of dishes
- Check dishes for accuracy, presentation and temperature before delivery
- Deliver orders to maintain fast service
- Eliminate obstacles in service, food preparation lines, or dishwashing
- Inspect the premises according to quality and sanitation standards and assist in cleaning
- Transfer important information between the kitchen and the wait staff (e.g. when a customer has a particular request)
- Appropriately handle complaints from guests to preserve the restaurant’s reputation
- Attend all scheduled employee meetings and offer any suggestions for improvement
What You Bring to the Table
Your experience: Proven experience as a food expeditor
Your education level: High School Diploma or equivalent, Food Handling Certification as required
Your abilities, skills, and traits:
- Exhibit a customer-oriented approach
- Demonstrate knowledge of hygiene and food safety rules
- Possess an ability to multi-task
- Utilize oral communication skills
- Work well under pressure and maintain fast, efficient service
- Exhibit a positive and friendly demeanor to guests and team members
- Be dependable and punctual
- Be able to stand for duration of shift, climb stairs, and lift and move heavy items
