Summary / Objective
We are looking for those who are positive and energetic! Work with children 18 months to 12 years of age.
Lil’ Kickers, Lil' Sluggers, and Lil' Hoopsters are more than just great soccer, baseball, and basketball programs for kids. Lil’ Athletes is a primarily child development program that uses these sports to facilitate growth in children physically, socially, and cognitively. Our balanced and creative approach to coaching will have a positive impact on the child that goes far beyond the sports field. Our high-energy and age-appropriate classes are carefully designed to enhance a child’s overall growth and development. The result? Kids with strong life skills, who are well-balanced and confident. And we do all this while the child has the time of their life!
Essential Functions
- Work with kids in a safe and fun environment.
- Build rapport and make a positive difference in a child’s life.
- Understand curriculum and teach children crucial life skills.
- Administer structured classes using knowledge of child development theories.
- Willingness to communicate with parents about their child’s progress.
- Engagement in trainings and has a growth mindset.
- Market the program via phone or events.
- General upkeep of equipment.
- A positive attitude.
- Other duties as directed.
Work Environment
This job operates in an area-wide capacity. This role routinely uses cleaning equipment, and employees in this role are frequently exposed to hot water, potentially slippery floors, and cleaning chemicals.
Physical Demands
The employee is required to stand 100% of their shift, climb or balance; and stoop or kneel. The employee must frequently lift and/or move objects up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds, using proper lifting procedures.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Must be 16 years of age.
- Able to work alongside others as a team.
- Must consistently be available Saturday and Sunday mornings. Times may vary based on facility schedule. Flexible schedule appreciated.
- Have the ability to be adaptable and work in a noisy, fast-paced environment with many distractions.
- Have the ability to move around the facility and walk or stand 100% of the shift.
- Must be a California Mandated Reporter (training available upon hire).
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior sports experience (specifically in soccer, baseball, basketball) is appreciated.
- Previous experience working with children recommended.
