JOB TITLE: Human Resources Generalist

EMPLOYER: Portobello America

REPORTS TO: Human Resources Manager

LOCATION: Baxter  


Position Overview: The Human Resource (HR) Generalist supports a variety of HR functions to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the HR department. This role involves employee relations, benefits administration, recruitment, compliance, and general HR support to foster a positive and productive workplace environment.

Key Responsibilities:1. Employee Relations:
  • Act as the first point of contact for employees on HR-related queries.
  • Assist in resolving employee conflicts and addressing concerns in alignment with company policies.
  • Promote a positive workplace culture through employee engagement initiatives.
2. Benefits Administration:
  • Assist employees with enrollment, changes, and questions about benefits plans.
  • Coordinate with benefits providers and ensure accurate record-keeping.
  • Support annual benefits renewal and open enrollment processes.
3. Compliance and Policy Management:
  • Ensure company compliance with local, state, and federal labor laws and regulations.
  • Maintain employee files and records in compliance with legal and company policies.
  • Review and update HR policies and procedures as needed.
4. Training and Development:
  • Identify training needs and assist in developing and delivering employee training programs.
  • Track and monitor compliance training and professional development.
5. Performance Management:
  • Support the implementation of performance appraisal and improvement systems.
  • Provide guidance to managers on handling performance issues.
6. HR Metrics and Reporting:
  • Maintain and analyze HR data to generate regular reports for management.
  • Track various HR KPIs such as turnover, attendance, and employee satisfaction.
7. General HR Administration:
  • Manage day-to-day HR administrative tasks, including responding to employee inquiries.
  • Coordinate special projects and assist with HR initiatives.
Qualifications:
  • Education: Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred but not required. SHRM-CP a plus.
  • Experience: 2–5 years of experience in a generalist HR role.
  • Skills:
    • Strong knowledge of HR principles, practices, and employment laws, both national and local.
    • Proficiency with HR software and Microsoft Office Suite.
    • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.

Salary : $65,000 - $75,000
