Our Generator Service & Maintenance Division is seeking qualified Generator Service Technicians to maintain, troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, and test generators ranging from 5 kw to 2000kw while providing best in class service to customers!

SUMMARY
A Generator Service Technician is a position in the US Generator Service Division. The primary duties and responsibilities of this position are to perform inspections on customers’ generators, requiring the technician to drive to the site, interact with the customer in a professional and courteous manner, and fill out inspection paperwork indicating the performance of the generator. Level II and III technicians are required to perform troubleshooting.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Previous experience in maintaining, troubleshooting, diagnosing, repair and testing of generator systems 5kw – 2000kw.
- Demonstrated ability to read and understand technical manuals and schematics needed for operation, troubleshooting, diagnostics and repairs of generators.
- Must be able to perform Preventative maintenance on diesel and gas fueled generators from 5kw to 2000kw including load bank testing and building load transfers.
- Previous experience troubleshooting, diagnosing and repairing generator AC electrical, DC electrical, mechanical, fuel, lubrication, and cooling systems.
- Experience assessing and reporting urgency of all needed repairs as well as accurately identifying any and all defective parts to be ordered including part numbers, serial numbers and photos.
COMPETENCIES/REQUIREMENTS:
- Certified Journeyman Electrician is preferred
- Must possess mechanical and electrical aptitude, and should have extensive experience in mechanical and electrical fields, particularly with diesel generators.
- Technical schooling, automotive or transportation fields, commercial, residential electric and or like military experience strongly preferred.
- Level III techs must show a desire and willingness to learn and use new technologies.
- Must be available and willing to work various shifts, weekend, holidays and on-call pager rotations. Occasional out of town travel with overnight stays will be required.
- Must be able to safely operate heavy equipment, forklifts, and mobile cranes accordance to OSHA regulations.
