Description
The Warehouse Lead works alongside the Supervisor and assigned team to ensure maximum productivity and efficiency within assigned areas to achieve on time delivery for thousands of small parcel orders daily. We expect you to do your part in maintaining a safe work environment per company policy, enforce mask policy and other company policies designed to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in the facility. Experience in picking, packing, and shipping small parcels via voice pick or similar technology is preferred. The Lead is required to be certified in operating all material handling equipment as needed by facility.
Responsibilities and Duties
· Provide employees guidance on how to properly perform their tasks.
· Support and follow direction from all managers and supervisors
· Be able to complete tasks with minimum supervision.
· Provide support to ensure team’s performance and productivity meets company goals
· Share input with supervisor or management to continuously improve operations within team
· Train new employees on daily operations, and monitor to ensure a high degree of productivity, safety, service, and quality.
· Report any potential safety hazards, or repair needs to supervisor or management to initiate action.
· Report defective materials or questionable conditions to Supervisor.
· Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follow prescribed safety regulations.
· Communicate with other cross-functional departments to collaborate and solve problems.
Requirements
- This job requires the Warehouse Lead to spend most time on the floor working with team associates.
- Experience with Warehouse Management Systems;
- 2 years Warehouse Lead experience in a related field;
- Able to walk, stand, bend, squat/stoop, climb, reach, crouch, and kneel for 8 hours.
- Lift, lower, push, pull, leverage, and manipulate equipment and/or packages weighing up to 50 pounds repeatedly or continuously over time.
- Computer skills in software including Microsoft Office; Excel experience required
- Experience with voice-activated picking systems, such as experience with Numina software is a big plus
- Certification in forklift operation preferred, but not required.
- Education Required: The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a high school diplomas and/or GED.
