Power Systems West locations include Portland, Oregon, Boise, Idaho, Seattle, Washington, Salt Lake City, Utah, and Denver Colorado. All locations offer 24/7 emergency service for power failures and unplanned outages.
The position of Generator Technician is responsible for performing service work throughout the local region. Responsibilities include:
- Performing preventative and corrective maintenance of standby generator systems 5 KW through 3200 KW
- Following proper procedures for load bank testing
- Troubleshooting and diagnosing emergency repair procedures of AC/DC controls
- Troubleshooting and diagnosing gas and diesel industrial engines
- Reading and understanding wiring diagrams and schematics
- Providing excellent customer service to internal and external customers
- Working independently with a minimum of daily supervision
- Working in a safe manner at all times
Required experience and skills:
- Minimum three years' experience in the power generation industry
- Knowledge of or ability to learn gas and diesel industrial engine fuel systems and controls
- Knowledge of automatic transfer switches and control logic
- Valid driver's license required, with good driving record meeting company standards
- Must have hand tools to complete all repairs mentioned above (including VOM, etc.)
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Experience driving in adverse weather conditions to perform job functions, towing and backing trailers
- Intermediate or higher level computer skills
- Overnight and some extended travel require
