Company Description: Rick’s Welding, Inc. was founded in 1988 as a farm repair business. In 1992, Rick built and installed the first commercial hydraulic door in Minnesota. From that point on we have expanded; we now build, deliver and install PowerLift Hydraulic Doors across the western half of MN the northwestern ¼ of IA and the eastern half of SD. We strive to provide our customers with a superior product and exceptional customer service.

Position Hours: Full-time, Overtime when required by installation schedule.

Position Location: Lake Benton, MN

Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Have a valid driver’s license. o This includes passing a DOT Physical o Nothing on your driving record that would prevent us from insuring you on our corporate policy

(ex. speeding tickets, drug/alcohol offenses, etc.)

  • Prepare for the day: o Prepare Door to go to jobsite. o Make sure your truck is stocked for the project. o Coordinate route with pilot cars if needed. o Make sure all flags, lights, etc. are appropriately distributed for DOT inspection.
  • Deliver door to jobsite as driver or passenger.
  • On the Jobsite: o Need welding experience as some doors will need to be stitch welded into place.

o Prior construction experience preferred as other doors will require lagging into place. o Ensure the door fits appropriately in the opening. o Ability to think on your feet (troubleshooting will be necessary on most jobsites) o Must be able to read a tape measure. o Ability to use ladders and lift equipment.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Previous welding and construction experience preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals written in English preferred.
  • Basic math skills including but not limited to addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division in all units of measure including whole numbers, fractions, and decimals. Ability to read a tape measure.
  • Ability to use tools and equipment in a safe and proper manner.

Certifications, Licenses, Registrations and Required Training:

The Following certifications and training, if required, will be provided by company:

  • Forklift Certificate (optional)
  • Welding Certificate(s) (optional)
  • Valid Drivers License (we will run a driving record)

Physical Demands/Working Conditions

To successfully perform the essential function of this position, employees must have the ability to:

  • Continuously lift/move up to 25 pounds; frequently lift/move up to 50 pounds; and occasionally pull up to

100 pounds.

  • Continuously stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms above shoulder height; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk; and hear. Frequently climb ladders and use lift equipment.
  • Occasionally balance, stoop, kneel, reach with hands and arms at waist level and below the waist, and work in limited space.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is continuously exposed to moving mechanical parts.

The employee is occasionally exposed to high places, fumes or airborne particles, caustic chemicals, and vibration.

The employee will perform work duties in varying weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

Pay: $18.00 - $28.00 per hour
