What are the responsibilities and job description for the Taproom Server position at Powers Farm & Brewery?
Taproom Server
We are looking for a positive, energetic and hard working person to join our team as a taproom server. We are looking for candidates who are available every Saturday (8 hour shifts) and most Sundays and sometimes availability to pick up other shifts on Thursdays and Fridays (maybe 2-3 times a month).
Requirements:
-A positive attitude with a comfort and dedication to serving our customers and fostering a great environment.
-Strong knowledge of craft beer, beer styles, and beer sensory with the aim of being able to assist and educate our customers.
-Prior experience in the hospitality industry is required.
-Very comfortable multi-tasking and being observant and mindful in a fast-paced atmosphere
-Must be 21 or over.
-Available to work days and evening when scheduled Thursdays-Sundays as well as holidays and special events. We are able to be flexible with scheduling if you are not available every day we are open.
-Having completed the Cicerone Certified Beer Server and VA ABC's "Responsible Sellers & Servers" Program a major plus.
Responsibilities:
-Welcoming and serving customers, including filling pints, growlers and working our point of sale system.
-Opening & closing the taproom which includes moping, sweeping, cleaning bathrooms, taking out trash, cleaning taps, glasses, tables, chairs, ect.
-On the fly cleaning and maintenance including washing glassware, cleaning tables and managing taproom trash cans.
-Very light farm chores that are associated with the taproom area including opening and closing our chicken coup as well as powering on/off our electric farm fencing
-Changing kegs and ensuring our draft system is functioning properly.
-Continuing your education about beer and our offerings.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $15.00 - $30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 10 – 15 per week
