Masonry Laborer
Position Summary: We are seeking a reliable and hardworking laborer to join our masonry team. This entry-level position provides an excellent opportunity to learn the masonry trade while supporting skilled masons in various construction projects including brick, block, stone, and concrete work.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Mix mortar, concrete, and other materials to proper consistency using hand tools or mechanical mixers
- Transport materials to work sites using wheelbarrows, hand trucks, or other equipment
- Set up and maintain a clean, organized work area
- Load, unload, and stack masonry materials such as bricks, blocks, stones, and bags of cement
- Assist masons by supplying materials and tools as needed
- Clean and maintain hand tools, power tools, and equipment
- Remove debris and excess materials from work sites
- Help set up and take down scaffolding under supervision
- Perform general cleanup duties at job sites
- Follow all safety protocols and wear required personal protective equipment
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous construction or manual labor experience helpful but not required
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds repeatedly throughout the workday
- Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions
- Strong work ethic and reliability
- Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
- Basic understanding of construction safety practices preferred
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged standing, walking, bending, and kneeling
- Frequent lifting, carrying, and moving of heavy materials
- Manual dexterity for handling tools and materials
- Ability to work at heights on scaffolding or ladders
- Visual acuity to distinguish materials and identify potential hazards
Schedule: Full-time, Monday through Friday with occasional Saturday work. Hours subject to project requirements and weather conditions.
