What are the responsibilities and job description for the Production Planner/Scheduler position at PPG Industries, Inc?
As a Production Planner/Scheduler you will coordinate all the demand inputs for production and developing an achievable finite plan that meets the service and working capital requirements of PPG.
We are looking for a supply chain professional to join our Industrial Coatings Division of PPG located in Oak Creek, Wisconsin. PPG offers excellent Medical, Dental, & Vision Benefits; matching 401k retirement savings; and Paid Vacation, Holiday pay.
Key Responsibilities:
- You will use Oracle R12 Scheduling applications to schedule work orders based on available plant resources, available inventory, equipment, and production work schedules, while meeting customer demand.
- Manage production parameters in detail: routings, resources, lead times, minimum order quantity and safety stock.
- You will ensure planning system parameters are set to of service and working capital.
- Create/publish the schedule to production team and communicate with operations team to ensure schedule is attained.
- You will use long-term rough-cut capacity planning system to identify and resolve issues of capacity constraints.
- Ensure acceptable service levels to both internal and external customers.
- You will work with PPG Sales, Marketing and Operations teams to coordinate new product launches and develop the S&OP 12-month supply plan.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, operations, supply chain or another technical field
- 3 years Supply Chain experience in a production environment
- Oracle or SAP - ERP experience
