PPM Consultants, Inc. (PPM), is seeking candidates for a full time position as an Environmental Field Technician in the Birmingham, Alabama office.
Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to: collection of air/water/soil/sediment samples; collection of pertinent data necessary for evaluating various environmental media; performing routine operation and maintenance of remediation systems; troubleshooting electrical or mechanical issues with remediation equipment; oversight of subcontractors for remediation events; and working within manufacturing facilities to perform inspections and assisting with other regulatory requirements.
The position requires a strong work ethic and great attention to detail. Candidates should be mechanically inclined and possess the ability to utilize various tools to work on machinery. Must have the ability to work safely and effectively, either alone or within a Project Team.
The majority of the work will be conducted outdoors at various project sites across Alabama. Daily travel is required and a company vehicle will be provided. Overnight stays are sometimes needed.
Prior experience as an Environmental Field Technician and a current 40-Hr HAZWOPER Certificate is preferred, but not required. Salary is dependent upon experience. This is an excellent opportunity for personal and professional growth.
