What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Manager position at Prairie Aquatech?
Prairie AquaTech is an animal health and nutrition company focused on upgrading plant-based meals into a high-quality protein, for use in food animal diets. The Maintenance Manager will play a vital role in a growing, fast-paced, product development-focused environment and offer support to manufacturing operations, technology and systems engineering. The Maintenance Manager will work closely with other team members in order to improve production facilities, reduce the incidence of equipment breakdown and develop strategies to improve overall reliability and plant safety, personnel and production processes. This position will report to the Senior Production Manager.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Ensure facility efficiency and workplace safety
- Design equipment maintenance strategies, procedures and methods
- Responsible for continuous running of equipment and machinery; troubleshoot any equipment issues
- Diagnose and troubleshoot any breakdown problems
- Develop and maintain an accurate bench stock and spare parts inventory
- Anticipate, predict, record and report production maintenance issues
- Carry out quality inspections based on schedule
- Monitor and control maintenance costs
- Efficient at using maintenance management software
- Efficient at managing planned shutdown plan
- Ability to lift 60 pounds
- Rotational on call duties as required
- Any and all other tasks as assigned
Qualifications:
- 2-3 years' experience in managing and supervising a maintenance workforce
- Completion of mechanical, electrical or electrical technical school training preferred
- Strong technical and troubleshooting abilities
- Experience in light mechanical assembly, electrical assembly and equipment maintenance
- Experience with repair of electronics or instrumentation
- Fabrication experience desirable
