What You Will Do:

The Associate Director, Manufacturing Engineering will design and develop manufacturing processes for products, taking into consideration problems inherent in the transfer of technology from research to manufacturing. Such design and development may include new or revised processes.

The Associate Director, Manufacturing Engineering will lead a team of intermediate or experienced professionals in Manufacturing Engineering.

  • Develops procedures for the economical mass production in cooperation with pilot-plant and production departments.
  • Conducts tests and measurements throughout stages of production to determine control over applicable variables; and services, troubleshoots and solves production process problems with processes or equipment already in operation. Reviews field support requirements and recommends tools and test equipment. Determines maintenance and repair materials required for deployment.
  • Establishes operating budgets, guides engineering regarding design concepts, and implements changes to improve products.
  • Instructs, directs and checks, under minimal guidance, the work of other manufacturing engineers to ensure that quality and manufacturing standards are met; implements and monitors operating budgets in order to maximize cost effectiveness and ensure standards are met.
  • Supervises the implementation of changes to improve products or reduce costs; guides engineering regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques to enhance performance and manufacturing capabilities.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Bachelor's degree and 12 or more years' experience in an engineering, manufacturing, operations management, program/project management or quality environment or a Master's degree and 10 or more years' experience in an engineering, manufacturing, operations management, program/project management or quality environment
  • Experience with project management
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Experience in aerospace engineering preferred

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.

Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee’s personal responsibility.

The salary range for this role is 143,000 USD - 287,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
