What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assembly Technician position at Precisesoft, Inc?
What You’ll Do
Assemble mechanical and structural components with precision using hand tools, machinery, and technical processes
Build everything from riveted tank structures and Cascade firefighting buckets to control quadrants and other utility aviation products
Follow engineering drawings, instructions, and blueprints to ensure top-quality work
Inspect parts for accuracy, safety, and durability before they leave the floor
Collaborate with team members across departments to ensure production runs smoothly
Keep your work area clean, safe, and well-organized
Learn new processes and tools as you grow your capabilities
Requirements:
Have a strong eye for detail and care about doing things the right way
Can read technical and assembly drawings/blueprints
Mechanical aptitude and familiarity with hand tools and basic machinery
Familiarity with pneumatic tools, pertaining to riveting on sheet metal assemblies
Take ownership of your work and are proud of what you build
Bring a positive attitude and want to be part of a tight-knit team
Can lift, move, and position components as needed (must be able to lift 50 lbs regularly)
Ability to follow detailed instructions and work independently
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. Higher education may be of benefit, however hands-on work experience in mechanical fields is of utmost preference.
Previous experience is beneficial but not mandatory; we provide comprehensive on-the-job training.
Knowledge of common mechanical tools
Safety consciousness relating to shop workplace environments
Experience in mechanical assembly, fabrication, or related work
Experience in aviation, industrial assembly, or manufacturing a plus
Comfortable using computers for basic documentation
