Job Title: Buyer Division: Precision

Job Status: Full Time Travel Required: 0-5%

Revision Date: December 2021 Reports To: Purchasing Manager


PURPOSE OF POSITION

Coordinate raw material to the plants to enable them to produce orders on time. Provide feedback on delivery issues to purchasing management and make sure packings lists are posted. Load part numbers as needed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.

More specifically, the employee owner will:

  • Maintain adequate inventory levels, order manufacturing and office supplies when levels are low.
  • Post packing slips.
  • Issue M.O.’s if necessary.
  • Check stock for availability.
  • Enter purchase orders.
  • Attach confirmations to purchase orders.
  • Communicate to Senior Buyers/Purchasing Manager in regards to product substitutions when stock is not available.
  • Expedite PO’s and deliveries as necessary.
  • Acquire quotes for Estimating department.
  • Obtain and disperse material certification as needed.
  • Load part numbers as necessary.
  • Change purchase prices in ERP system in the event of cost revisions.
  • Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION – EXPERIENCE – COMPUTER SKILLS

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; or
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); plus
  • One to three years related experience and/or training.


TRAINING – CERTIFICATIONS – LICENSES

  • Continually participate in additional training related to the job.

  • Must be able to frequently stoop/bend.

  • Must be able to regularly lift and/or move 10 up to 25 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision.
  • Specific hearing abilities required for this job include the ability to hear instructions from others.


ENVIRONMENTAL ADAPTABILITY

  • The noise level in the work environment is usually MODERATE
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and outdoor weather conditions.
  • Safety glasses and ear plugs in production areas.
