Position Summary
As a Generator Field Service Technician, you will be responsible for the preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, diagnostics, repairs, and startups of diesel and gaseous generator systems, along with the associated automatic transfer switches. This role requires technical expertise, strong problem-solving ability, and the ability to work independently while upholding a high standard of workmanship.

Primary Responsibilities
- Perform routine and preventive maintenance on standby generators and automatic transfer switches
- Diagnose and repair diesel and gaseous engines, alternators, generator controls, and electrical systems (AC and DC)
- Conduct equipment startups and ensure proper operation
- Respond to emergency service calls and work occasional nights, weekends, or out-of-town assignments
- Articulately document service visits, findings, corrective actions, and resolutions
- Travel to job sites using a company-provided vehicle
Job Requirements
- High school diploma and preferably a trade school completion as well as a factory certification(s)
- 2 years of experience servicing industrial generator sets and associated equipment. (Candidates with strongly transferable skills may be considered. Examples include: diesel or auto mechanic with industrial mechanic experience, heavy equipment mechanic with 3 phase power experience, or industrial mechanic with engine troubleshooting experience. etc.)
- Proven ability to service, repair, and troubleshoot diesel and gaseous engines
- Verified competency to work with alternator ends, generator controls, automatic transfer switches (ATS), and electric control systems
- Established track record to Troubleshoot both DC power and AC power (single-phase and three-phase systems)
- A strong work ethic and the ability to work with minimal supervision
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other Windows-based programs
- Clean-cut, professional appearance and documented drug-free status
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Willingness to relocate to Utah, if applicable.
