Position Overview: The Inside Sales Representative (ISR) is the primary contact for all our customers. The ISR is responsible for entering sales orders, communicating lead time, handling customer concerns, and addressing routine questions.
Essential Job Functions
- Enter customers' sales orders while confirming the accuracy of the pricing, quantity, payment terms and shipping location. Subsequently, sends the customer an order confirmation that includes the lead-time.
- Provides pricing to customers for existing parts
- Review and translation of EDI or customer web portals for transactional details
- Enter requests for Return Material Authorizations and notification to customers and internal colleagues. Provides carrier information for returned material
- Handles customer requests for order status, product information, pricing, delivery dates, and adjustments to orders
- Opens new customer accounts by entering in account information
- Verifies customer credit status with the accounting department
- Initiates and updates quality notifications
- Maintains customer master files and product special messaging within ERP guidelines
- Interacts regularly with the Business Development Manager, shipping and technical service staff to handle customer questions
- Coordinates with appropriate party or responds to customer requests for product documentation or materials

- As this position is often our first point of customer contact, the ISR must be timely and punctual in attendance and keeps interruptions to being available to customers and colleagues to a minimum
Skills/Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Beginning level proficiency in word-processing and spreadsheet applications required. Familiarity with manufacturing software (M2M)
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with a demonstrated ability to interact effectively with individuals at all levels in the organization required
- Ability to prioritize, multitask and work under limited supervision required
- Accurate typing and data entry skills required
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills required
