Job Description:

Essential Job Functions:

  • Develop and maintain a sustainable SART/DVRT program with the goal of improving services to adult and adolescent sexual assault and domestic violence victims.

  • Coordinate effective interagency collaboration to generate and maintain a coordinated response team to meet the needs of adolescent and adult sexual assault and domestic violence survivors

  • Collect and report data as required by program director and funding source

  • Create and maintain client files

  • Maintain an updated SART/DVRT manual

  • In collaboration with the Volunteer Coordinator, recruit potential SART/DVRT volunteers

  • Interview potential volunteer candidates for SART/DVRT and respond to all interested inquiries

  • Organize training classes, 40 hours of required training, for new volunteers for SART/DVRT

  • Provide direct supervision and shadowing for new SART/DVRT volunteers

  • Schedule SART/DVRT volunteers for shifts

  • Provide ongoing oversight, evaluation and recognition of job performance of all SART/DVRT volunteers through written and verbal feedback

  • Make follow-up phone calls to SART/DVRT clients and sexual assault hotline calls.

  • In collaboration with the Community Relations and Engagement Manager, coordinate activities for Sexual Assault Awareness Month (April) and Domestic Violence Awareness Month (October)

  • Attend meetings in the community to network and maintain professional relationships

  • Facilitate psycho-educational groups in the community, at the DV shelters and within the agency

  • Maintain a supportive, professional relationship with all staff, volunteers and students

  • Identify community needs regarding prevention programming

  • Utilize evidence based programs and implement prevention programming in the community and within the agency

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Basic knowledge of Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault

  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills

  • Ability to communicate effectively, problem solve, and work well with people from diverse backgrounds

  • Must be able to work independently with limited direction and meet deadlines

  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality

  • Organized, detail oriented and flexible

  • Able to identify and respond to shifting priorities

  • Flexible hours, i.e. some evenings and weekends required

  • Serve on an on-call, on-scene response team, when appropriate

  • Demonstrates the ability to operate a computer, including utilizing Google applications

  • Prefer candidate with experience with SART/DVRT and knowledge of best practices

  • Prefer candidate with proven ability to work with stakeholders from multiple disciplines and develop collaborative relationships

Experience and Education Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in related field, preferred; OR

  • Associate Degree and one year of experience in human services field; OR

  • Three years of experience providing case management and advocacy in a human service organization; OR

  • A survivor of domestic violence and/or sexual assault who has demonstrated knowledge and/or experience working in the field and two years of experience in a human services organization.

  • Must be willing to become SART/DVRT certified within forty-five days of employment, required.

Employment Requirements:

  • Must provide evidence that he/she is free of TB and/or obtain a TB test within 30 days of employment and annually thereafter.

  • Must possess a valid Driver’s License within state of residency and a responsible driving record.

  • Adult and infant CPR certification and completed First Aid training within ninety (90) days of employment.

  • Successful completion of background check including criminal record, driving record and abuse/neglect.

  • Completion of New Hire Orientation at the beginning of employment. All training requirements including Relias Learning at the beginning of employment and annually thereafter.

Physical Requirements:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to drive a vehicle, walk, speak, hear, write, observe, and respond physically to visitors and staff in person and on the phone. The employee must be able to handle or feel objects and lift or move materials with hands and arms. This position requires operation of vehicles, office machinery, and telephones, and may occasionally be required to balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
