Preferred Psychological Solutions is seeking a center mental health consultant to work in conjunction with other professional staff in providing exceptional services to both staff and students. This is a government-funded, no-cost, educational/vocational training program administered under the auspices of the U.S. Department of Labor that helps socioeconomically disadvantaged youth ages sixteen to twenty-five. Qualifications
- Must be a licensed psychologist, licensed independent clinical social worker, or licensed professional counselor.
- License must be unrestricted and you cannot be under supervision.
Responsibilities
- Provides psychological assessment, treatment, intervention, and education for residents/students.
- Provides psychotherapy/counseling for those in an individual or group setting.
- Provides education and prevention training for current and relevant mental health issues.
- Reviews new applicant files for potential mental health issues that may need accommodation or other interventions.
- May assist in drug and alcohol intervention and treatment as needed.
- Provides campus wide education events on mental health.
- Adheres to all policies, procedures and regulations regarding confidentiality and ethical standards.
- Consults with medical, residential, educational, and counseling staff on mental health.
- Maintains accurate and timely records regarding treatment, referrals and medication compliance.
- Utilizes testing methods and techniques for psychological assessment.
Education/Training/Licensure
- Minimum master’s degree in psychology, social work or counseling required.
- Must be independently licensed in your field of study. (Not under supervision)
- Related experience is preferred.
Job Details
· Part or full-time work: 20 to 40 hours per week.
