Job Description:
The surgical tech, MA or LPN assists our board-certified physicians and physician extenders in performing Mohs Micrographic surgery, excisions, repairs (complex to grafts), and other dermatologic procedures. The clinical staff prepares the surgical room, including the sterile field, setting up surgical equipment and supplies. During surgery, surgical technologists pass instruments and supplies to the surgeon and prepares and manages surgical equipment. After surgery the surgical Tech performs sterile processing of instruments. Under the medical direction of the clinic providers and general administrative direction of the practice administrator.
Job Responsibilities:
- Room patients and prep for surgery
- Assist surgeons with patient care, surgical excisions, procedures, repairs, biopsies and education
- Ensure that charts contain all necessary documentation (i.e. consent forms, lab reports, etc.)
- Scribe for provider using EMR system as needed
- Apply pressure dressings to surgical wounds
- Educate patient on post-operative wound care
- Clean and sterilize surgical instruments
- Restock rooms with surgical supplies
Job Qualifications:
- Previous hands-on experience in an outpatient clinic setting
- Current CPR/BLS certification preferred
- The ideal candidate should be a self-starter, reliable, detail oriented, possess a strong capability for multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment
- Professional, friendly demeanor
- Works well in team environment
- Dermatology/Surgical experience a plus
- EMR documentation
- Proven competencies/skills: analytical, problem solving, clinical/technical, patient/customer service orientation, bedside manner, interpersonal and written communications, thoroughness and teamwork
Schedule:
- Part-time between the hours of 8am-5pm Monday-Friday
