Community Access Medical Assistant

Must have a verifiable license, certificate, or registration for MA, CNA, GNA, Phlebotomist, CPCT-A, EMT
Scope of work:
- Set up workstation/ supplies
- Specimen Collections/Vital Signs
- Greet patients/ verify patients name, date of birth and reason for testing
- Direct traffic as needed to ensure flow and safe traffic patterns
- Obtain, explain and record vital signs using equipment provided & retake abnormal vital signs
- Explain specimen collection process and next steps to patient
- Obtain 1-2 Anterior Nasal Swab Specimens from patients, collect throat swab from patient as needed for Strep Testing in accordance with testing guidelines
- Properly seal specimens and prepare for transport/processing
- Change PPE and maintain proper hand hygiene and standard precautions
- Assist patients with any questions and requests
- Assist with setup of e-visit provider visits
- Document medical information as needed for medical records
- Read/dictate patient information (symptoms, v/s and PMSHx to providers)
- Ensure proper communication is established between e-visit provider and patient by checking audio and video feed is properly functioning; troubleshoot when necessary
- Maintain inventory and supply count
- Ensure supplies requiring battery charge are appropriately stored & setup for charging
- Collaboratively work in a team environment, flexibility with schedule
- Maintain safety standards in guidance with OSHA, COLA, CLIA and CDC recommendations
- Ensure proper disposal of biohazardous waste products
- Complete other duties as assigned by directors, administrators, managers, supervisors, providers & leads
- Assist with maintaining clean and safe outdoor & indoor work areas
- This position requires the ability to stand for long periods of time and to work outdoors in all weather conditions (rain, heat, snow and cold) and work in PPE.
