The EMR Trainer will report to the Information Technology Director, and work alongside a team of IT professionals, administrative staff, and other healthcare professionals to provide the best quality service available in our newest and biggest clinic and ambulatory surgical center. The electronic medical record trainer will accomplish training objectives by developing, planning, implementing and evaluating training activities. Receive guidance from the Project Manager for training to be conducted and develops training plans accordingly. Perform one-on-one or group training sessions for PMA staff, management, and physicians. After implementation, documents completed training and reviews the need for additional or recurring instruction. Perform duties that support HIPAA & Compliance for the practice.
Responsibilities
While we prefer a candidate that has electronic medical record training experience in a private gastroenterology practice setting, we are willing to train the right candidate that has the preferred qualifications and attitude we are seeking. Through past experience and accomplishments, the candidate should be able to demonstrate on the job why their skill set is a match. In general, the responsibilities will include:
- Works within all departments to train physicians, management, and staff on EMR workflows and processes
- Assists in developing training plans involving all relevant stakeholders
- Ensure proper resource availability and allocation
- Develop a detailed training plan, document, and track progress
- Measure training performances
- Report concerns and escalate issues for corrective action
- Ensures all scheduled training are delivered on-time, within scope and budget
- Achieves operational objectives by contributing information and recommendations; implementing production, quality, and customer-service standards; resolving problems; completing training audits; identifying trends; determining system improvements; implementing change
- Define the scope of training needs for productivity improvement
- Ensure that all personnel receive an appropriate orientation to the training topic
- Establish communication dialogue with stakeholders on training requirements
- Reassess trained stakeholders to ensure standards continue to be met based on trained workflows and perform respective documentation
- Communicate progress, weekly, to management and stakeholders
- Coordinates with all departments to implement documented workflows to be trained
- Evaluate current processes to improve efficiency and quality
- Ensure consistency of methods and practices at each site
- Maintain EMR superuser status
- Perform duties relating to HIPAA & Compliance for the practice
Essential Skills and Requirements for ELECTRONIC MEDICAL RECORD TRAINER (EMR)
- Hands-on experience with electronic medical/health record (EMR or EHR) systems (eClinicalWorks)
- Must be proficient in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint as well as Outlook.
- Project Management Skills - Able to coordinate multiple training projects with competing priorities and deadlines in a timely manner
- Experience in a medical practice working amongst physicians and administrators
- Exercise good interpersonal relations and be supportive of the philosophy and policies of the practice
