Premier offers a wide range of services including: landscape architecture, landscape services, landscape maintenance, landscape enhancements & rotations, masonry & hardscapes, irrigation, landscape lighting, commercial maintenance and commercial snow removal.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

Join the highly reputable, award winning Premier Service Team as a Account Manager for some of the most sought after properties in Illinois! Premier delivers the highest quality work in some of the most desirable areas of the City and Suburbs including Lincoln Park, Gold Coast Properties, Lakefront Properties, Michigan Avenue and various Downtown Estates and Class A offices! This position will specialize in high touch finishes, quality service and the highest customer relations to match our high-end service.


We are seeking an individual who has industry knowledge through a Horticulture Degree or related experience and is creative, outgoing, energetic and motivated. JOB SUMMARY: An Account Manager will be primarily responsible for selling the services and products of Premier and must be knowledgeable regarding all services and products being offered. This individual will manage award winning high end commercial and residential clients throughout the assigned territory. This individual must be creative, outgoing, and possess superior customer relations skills. Additionally this individual must be capable of executing high touch finishes and serving as an effective sales relationship manager and problem solver.


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS (including but not limited to):

  • Solicit new commercial and residential sales in existing markets and new markets; while demonstrating the company’s services, this employee must answer questions about the nature and cost of services
  • Ability to anticipate and respond to prospective clients’ questions and objections to using company’s services in a professional manner and to persuade prospective clients to purchase the services. If a sale is not consummated on the first visit, follow-up appropriately with additional visits, letters or phone calls
  • Draft estimates pursuant to client specifications and revise estimates as is necessary for prospective client acceptance
  • After closing a sale, maintain contact with client to ensure that the purchase meets the client’s needs and determine if additional services can be sold
  • Develop satisfied clientele who continue to use company services and recommend the company to other prospective clients
  • Respond expeditiously to client service calls, identify client’s service needs or concerns, and coordinate with appropriate company personnel to ensure client satisfaction
  • Coordinate and confer with appropriate company personnel to ensure that sales estimates are completed accurately and expeditiously
  • Follow up with clients to collect all payments that are due
  • Assist in developing policies and procedures relating to sales, management, and general company operations
  • Assist in marketing company by developing marketing methods and sales presentations
  • Maintain and develop knowledge to enhance sales abilities in landscape-maintenance industry through all available company resources and communication with other company personnel
  • Maintain continuous interaction with company President and all other managerial employees to ensure proper communication between office facilities and fieldwork
  • Maintain well-organized sales records and documentation relating to all aspects of duties
  • Complete all job duties in an efficient manner
  • Exercise discretion and utilize independent judgment consistently during performance of duties by comparing and evaluating possible courses of conduct and making decisions after various possibilities have been considered
  • Maintain respectful and pleasant attitude toward all company personnel, clients and suppliers.
  • Assist with sales relating to Holiday decorating or other aspects of company as directed


SPECIAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • Strong writing skills to draft professional estimates for clients and to draft necessary correspondence to clients
  • Solid understanding of labor and materials costs in order to properly draft sales estimates
  • Strong oral communication skills necessary to communicate over the telephone and in-person with all company personnel, clients and suppliers
  • Ability to drive to client locations. Workdays may consist of driving from client to client throughout the entire day
  • Ability to walk with clients throughout their properties to properly assess client’s needs
  • Must be highly motivated, energetic, well-organized, efficient and have excellent leadership skills in order to develop and lead a sales team


KNOWLEDGE AND PRACTICAL EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Bachelors degree, ideally in Horticulture or Landscape Architecture or related field preferred
  • A valid Driver's License and ability to meet Premier guidelines for driver eligibility Thorough knowledge of industry basics, such as but not exclusively, landscape design, construction, irrigation, maintenance, blueprints, and equipment utilization
  • Outstanding verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong conflict resolution and critical-thinking skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and multi-tasking abilities while dealing with continuous interruptions


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Some physical effort required. Must be able to tolerate extended periods of sitting or standing; frequent use of a computer and cell phone and have the ability to communicate and hear effectively
  • The employee is often required to stand and walk safely in the office and at job sites, reach with hands, arms and stoop and bend and lift/carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Flow of work and character of duties involves normal visual and mental attention
  • Physical and mental ability to work in an environment with rapid business growth and pressure due to business demands
  • Duties require willingness to work a flexible schedule and/or weekends
