Job Description:
A cashier in many ways is the most influential employee to a brand, they are often the only employee with direct interaction with the customers and their role is to provide friendly customer service, while making sure to scan every product and complete the transaction on the cash register. Duties may include operating a sales register, bagging groceries, answering the phone, selling money orders, issuing refunds, counting and balancing drawers, and most importantly; providing excellent customer service.
Primary Duties:
- Smile & greet every customer!
- Provide friendly, prompt, and efficient customer service.
- Get to know your customers – and address them by name when possible!
- Answer telephone, and direct calls.
- Operate cash register – following all company and legal guidelines.
- Bagging groceries for customers.
- Keep register and area clean and necessary supplies stocked.
- Stock and rotate products on shelves.
- Balance cash drawer at the end of shift.
- Practice proper sanitation procedures and complete required cleaning to ensure work areas and displays are kept neat and clean.
- Adhere to company policies and guidelines.
- Report to work when scheduled and on time.
