PrepMatters, Inc. is the premier source in the Washington metro area for one-on-one test preparation and educational planning. We're looking for reliable professionals to join our team as a full-time (40 hours a week) Placements Advisor. Hours are Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Our office is located at 5001 Cordell Avenue, Bethesda, MD. The position is open immediately. This position is fully remote and offers a comprehensive benefits package (medical, dental, vision insurance, paid sick leave, paid time off, paid holidays, employer paid life insurance and disability, SIMPLE IRA with employer match and an Employee Assistance Program). Initial onboarding will be in person at our Bethesda location. Candidates must reside in VA, DC or MD.
The position: The primary responsibility of the placements advisor is to support the interest of prospective clients by engaging in-person or phone placement interviews, anticipating clients needs, and matching students with an appropriate tutor or educational counselor.
Ideal candidates will:
- Have a minimum 2 years of demonstrated sales experience
- Have a minimum 2 years of demonstrated customer service experience
- Have strong verbal and written English communication skills
- A demonstrated ability to take initiative and confidently direct customer inquiries
- Have superior organizational skills and an aptitude for mastery of detail
- Have the ability to organize, break down and clearly articulate complex thoughts, ideas and instructions in written form
- Have a strong command of technology and Microsoft Office
- Have a 4 year college degree
In this position you will:
- Convert email and telephone inquiries to successful placements by advising families on PrepMatters services based on their student's academic needs
- Work closely with students' families and our tutors to ensure a high level of successful placement outcomes
- Provide concierge-style customer service to prospective and current customers when answering questions or addressing concerns about company services
- Coordinate with colleagues to optimize placement success
- Establish an ongoing and trusting relationship with the student's families

You are dependable and able to sustain daily commitment to this important front-line position. You are a natural at interacting with people and exude professional warmth. You demonstrate poise in engagement, the ability to listen well, and are equally articulate with written and verbal expression. You manage a fast-paced environment in a professional manner and have an interest in working with educated and successful clients. You are tech savvy and work easily with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel. PrepMatters wants every client to receive personal, excellent service. Compensation: $50,000-$60,000, DOE
