What are the responsibilities and job description for the Ammonia Refrigeration Technician position at Prestage?
To operate and maintain the industrial refrigeration system for a turkey processing plant. The technician position applies for individuals with mechanical aptitude and ambition to continue a career in the refrigeration field.
- Installation and repair of industrial refrigeration equipment in accordance to blueprints and engineering specs.
- Knowledge of Process Safety Management (PSM).
- Provide preventive maintenance to the ammonia systems.
- Knowledge of Frick screw and reciprocating computer systems and ice making systems.
- Maintain logs and paperwork
- Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations and promote a safe work environment for self and coworkers.
- Minimum of 3 years experience with industrial ammonia refrigeration.
- Able to work flexible start times and rotating shifts including weekends and holidays.
- Must be able to read, write and verbally communicate in English.
- Able to work in hot, cold and wet environments.
- Able to work in confined spaces.
- Able to stand, squat and climb on a regular basis.
