What are the responsibilities and job description for the CDL Driver-Hauling Shavings position at Prestage?
Prestage Farms is looking for a reliable and safety-conscious Commercial driver to safely and efficiently haul shavings to various turkey farms ensuring timely and accurate deliveries. This position will require the following:
- Load and unload trucks when at destination.
- Ensure that the tractor and trailer is clean each day inside and out to include filling tank with fuel at the end of each.
- Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures.
- Document and log work/rest periods
- Plan routes and meet delivery schedules.
- Inspect vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues and perform preventative maintenance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES.
- Extensive knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations
- No recent moving or driving violations.
- Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions etc)
- Willing to submit to background/drug checks and provide employment recommendations.
- Certificate of Training from Trucking School or at least 1 year of commercial driving experience
- Valid CDL class A license
ADA REQUIREMENTS: Ability to walk, stoop, bend, climb, repetitive motions, see and distinguish colors, and hear
