Psychiatric Registered Nurse

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Psychiatric Nurse to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality care to patients with mental health conditions in various settings, including home care, outpatient services, and urgent care facilities. This role involves collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement effective treatment plans, ensuring the best possible outcomes for our patients.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' mental health status and needs.
• Develop individualized care plans based on patient assessments and clinical guidelines.
• Provide direct patient care, including administering medications and monitoring vital signs.
• Engage in discharge planning to ensure a smooth transition for patients returning home or moving to other facilities.
• Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions, treatment options, and coping strategies.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in compliance with ICD-10 coding standards.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals in critical care settings to manage complex cases.
• Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills in dementia care and behavioral health.

Qualifications

• Valid nursing license in the state of practice.
• Experience in psychiatric nursing or a related field is preferred.
• Familiarity with home care practices and teaching hospital environments is a plus.
• Proficient in phlebotomy techniques and capable of performing necessary lab tests.
• Strong understanding of discharge planning processes and critical care protocols.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to teach effectively.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team while maintaining patient-centered care.
• Commitment to providing compassionate support to individuals experiencing mental health challenges.
