Advisory Associate – Accounting & Transactions
Location: Long Beach, CA (Hybrid)
Overview
We’re seeking an Advisory Associate to join a growing consulting and advisory practice supporting middle-market and emerging growth companies. This role blends technical accounting, M&A support, ERP/finance transformation, and direct client engagement. You’ll work closely with senior advisors and clients on high-impact projects across multiple industries.

Key Responsibilities
Accounting & Advisory Services
- Support clients with technical accounting, monthly/quarterly close support, and financial reporting
- Assist with accounting policy development and GAAP research
- Prepare and review financial schedules, reconciliations, and analyses
M&A & Transaction Support
- Assist with buy-side and sell-side engagements
- Support financial due diligence, quality of earnings, and deal readiness projects
- Analyze historical financials, working capital trends, and transaction adjustments
- Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders throughout deal cycles
ERP & Finance Transformation
- Support ERP implementations and system integrations (NetSuite, Oracle, SAP, or similar)
- Assist with process improvement, system optimization, and data migration efforts
- Document workflows and help design scalable accounting and finance processes
Client Engagement
- Serve as a client-facing team member on advisory engagements
- Participate in client meetings, status updates, and project deliverables
- Build strong relationships through clear communication and responsiveness
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 1–3 years of experience in public accounting, advisory, consulting, or transaction services
- Exposure to accounting services, M&A support, or ERP projects strongly preferred
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Comfortable working directly with clients in a fast-paced environment
- CPA or CPA-track a plus
