Job Title: Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) / Medical Technologist / Clinical Laboratory Scientist/ Histo tech/ Cyto techs
Location: Murfreesboro, TN
Salary: $35-$40 per hour
Shift /Schedule: 3rd Shift is 8:30 pm to 6:30 am
Duration: 6 months
Initial training will be conducted during day shift hours for 1-2 weeks.
*The salary is determined by an individual's level of experience, as well as any relevant licenses and certifications they may hold.
Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) / Medical Technologist / Clinical Laboratory Scientist to join our team in a dynamic clinical laboratory environment. In this role, you will play a crucial part in delivering quality patient care by performing a variety of laboratory tests and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing based on established criteria.
Perform routine and complex technical procedures according to departmental Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Monitor, operate, and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation to ensure optimal functionality.
Make informed technical decisions regarding testing and problem-solving.
Prepare, test, and evaluate new reagents or controls as necessary.
Report accurate and timely test results to facilitate quality patient care.
Conduct preventive maintenance and quality control procedures, documenting as required.
Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as needed.
Assist with the processing of specimens when necessary.
Maintain a safe work environment and adhere to safety protocols by wearing appropriate personal protective equipment.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, or meet local regulatory (CLIA & State) requirements.
A minimum of 2-4 years of clinical laboratory testing experience is required.
State Medical Technologist license may be required (to be specified based on local regulations).
ASCP or AMT certification is preferred.
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
Proficient with computers; familiarity with laboratory information systems is a plus.
Strong attention to detail along with excellent communication and organizational skills.
Must pass a standardized color vision screening.
Flexibility to work overtime or alternate shifts based on business needs.
Additional Comments:
Training: Initial training will be conducted during day shift hours for 1-2 weeks.
Screening: Color Vision Screening and TB Screening will be required.
Vaccine Requirement: Hepatitis B vaccination declination form accepted.
